Manufactured Housing Energy Savers

The general gist of the idea…

Train students and volunteers to conduct energy efficiency outreach programs for owners of manufactured housing.  Target mobile home parks where there is a high concentration of such housing.  Conduct energy audits, make energy efficiency education available, and perform low-cost, high-payback retrofit work during initial site visits.  Provide owners with recommendations on the higher first-cost efficiency measures and connect them to funding sources.

My idea will help…

Reduce the high energy costs of manufactured housing which contribute to the cycle of poverty.  Minimize the ecological footprint of mobile home parks.  Raise awareness of residential energy efficiency opportunities and local low-income housing issues.
